Bill Richardson The Governor Of New Mexico Puts His Name On The Ballot

New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson announced to the public that he is ending the exploratory phase of his campaign and is officially seeking the 2008 Democratic Presidential nomination. “The United States faces huge challenges, but also huge opportunities. I am running for President because these times call for a leader with a proven track record, and a demonstrated ability to bring people together to tackle our problems at home and abroad,” said Governor Richardson.

Romney Believes Voters Will Accept His Mormonism

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney says he is troubled by the Mormon church’s past practice of polygamy, but that he can overcome voter concern about his religion. “What’s at the heart of my faith is a belief that there’s a creator, that were all children of the same God and that fundamentally the relationship you have with your spouse is important and eternal,” he said Sunday on CBS’ “60 minutes.”

Immigration Demands Citizenship From Congress

Demonstrators demanding a path to citizenship for an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants hope that nationwide marches will spur Congress to act before the looming presidential primaries take over the political landscape. Marches, meetings and voter registration drives were planned Tuesday from California to New York, a year after 1 million flexed their economic muscle in a nationwide boycott during last year’s May 1 activities.
